Green Prescription

What a Green Prescription is

Has your doctor given you a Green Prescription?

A Green Prescription is a health professional's written advice to a patient or their family to become more physically active as part of their health management plan.

Watch this short video to see Green Prescription in action.

What a Green Prescription involves

If you are given a Green Prescription you will be referred to either Harbour Sport or Sport Auckland.

They will register you in the programme and invite you to an orientation at one of our participating Auckland Council leisure centres.

At the orientation, you'll be taken on a facility tour to explain your exercise options and what your membership gives you access to.

What are the benefits?

You will be offered one-on-one consultations so we can understand your goals, medical conditions or injuries. Our fitness professionals can design an exercise programme that will suit you.

You'll have access to nutrition sessions to ensure you get the advice and support you need to achieve your health and fitness goals.

You'll also have access to other activities, including group fitness classes and low-impact outdoor adventures.
