Five longer paths to run/walk

These five paths are longer than the Round The Bays course – a great way to test yourself out before the big day!

Wanting something closer to home or work? Check out for lots of paths near you!


Gulf Harbour Coast to Coast Path


An achievable 'coast to coast' walk across the beautiful Whangaparāoa Peninsula – 6km in total, so 12km in all from start to start! Look out for pūkeko along the way, and soak up all the impressive boats and views towards Auckland city and Rangitoto Island as you go.


Opanuku Stream Path


The majority of the path is sheltered, so it's perfect to run and walk on regardless of the heat or cold (read: no excuses!)


Grey Lynn to Pt Erin Path


A great sealed urban route, which you can break up with a swim at Pt Erin Pools or a picnic at Pt Erin Park (if you need / want a rest!)


Cascades Path


This path comes equipped with playgrounds, toilets, softball fields, splash pads, fitness circuits... and why not take a picture on the historic Hattaway Bridge for the 'gram?


Wattle Downs South Path


A peaceful walk or ride around a picturesque part of the Manukau Harbour coastline – and very stroller / pram / family friendly, so take the little ones with you!
